Deer neighbor!
Our neighborhood, located just south of West Point on the Eno, has seen a second baby fawn deposited in a neighbor's yard.
This little guy?/gal? was spotted just down the road and yours truly wandered down the street to capture a few shots of a little brown blur (like last time) when suddenly it hopped up and began wandering around!
My neighbor and I watched it run around a bit for about 15-20 minutes until it finally gave up and collapsed on his back patio.
And in case you are wondering - what does one do when one spots a tiny deer in one's neighborhood? - I've got the answer. It's this: NOTHING. Animal Control says that does often will "park" a newborn nearby while they go out and graze, then return to pick him/her up later.
These pictures were taken yesterday .... and I haven't seen my neighbor yet, so no update on the fawn's status. I'll post more here when I hear more.
